принц (Kralj Marko: Balka�ski �ri�c,<br />

2001 i� 2006) i� 2084 (2009). Njegove<br />

�esmi so bile �revede�e v devet jezikov.<br />

Vladimir Levchev was born in 1957 in<br />

Sofia, Bulgaria. He obtained his MA<br />

degree in Art History at the Academy of<br />

Fine Arts in Sofia, and an M.F.A. in creative<br />

writing at the American University in<br />

Washington, DC, which he attended on a<br />

Fulbright Scholarship. He is a poet writing<br />

in Bulgarian and English, a writer,<br />

translator of poetry from the English (T.S.<br />

Eliot, Alan Ginsberg), and an assistant<br />

professor at the American University<br />

in Blagoevgrad, where he teaches writing<br />

and literature. He has authored 14<br />

books of poetry (4 of which were published<br />

in the US); among them Аритмии<br />

(Arrhythmia, 1978), Небесни Балкани<br />

(Heave�ly Balka�s, 2000) The Rai�bow<br />

Maso� (2005), and Кой сънува моя<br />

живот: 1977–2007 (Who Is Dreaming<br />

My Life: 1977-2007, 2007); a collection<br />

of essays titled Литература и морал<br />

(Literature and Morality, 1994); and<br />

the novels Крали Марко: Балканският<br />

принц (Krali Marko: The Balkan<br />

Prince, 2001 and 2006) and 2084<br />

(2009). His poems have been translated<br />

into 9 languages.
