On the contrary, in 1934 and 1935, thedeals reached their peak. In 1936, the value of the deals was at its peak even ifthe number of deals was smaller than in 1934-1935. First of all, this was due tothe increase of prices in cereal and oily products.In conclusion, we emphasize the fact that the cereal markets, the cattle’markets, the periodical fares, and the Stock Market have played an importantrole in the commercial activity in the area in the period within 1918-1944. Theavailable data reveal the fact that the increase of the commercial activity iscomplemented by the increase of production. There have been taken somemeasures that have allowed the State to increase its role in these fields, in orderto ensure the leap from production to its intensive character and to trade’sdevelopment. In spite of having a positive impact, these had not been enough.Generally, the increase in Oltenia’s Economy’s development represented a solid41 Ibidem.
