364Marin Băbeanu• The proportion of the occupied population in agriculture and forestryis excessive (49% both in rapport to the assembly of economical activities inRomania, where the proportion was of 34.1% and with the average situation inthe other countries of the European Union, where the proportion of occupiedpopulation in agriculture was of 5.2% in 2005;• The proportion of the occupied population in the industry andconstructions fields, of about 24% of the total population in the region, isinferior to the average at national level, of about 30% and emphasizes a declineof the industry in the Oltenia region, much more pronounced, in rapport to theoverall evolution of Romania’s industry. The occupied population in the regionincreased slowly, up to a proportion of about 27% of the total occupiedpopulation in the region, but lower than the national average (34.9) with about 8percentage points, and in comparison with the average of the other countries inthe European Union (of 69.9) with 43 percentage points;• The unemployment rate in the South-West Oltenia region is inferiorto the unemployment rate at national level, but long term unemployment andunemployment of the 15-30 year old population represent the main sourceswhich supply unemployment in the region.The main causes in the evolution of the phenomena on the work forcemarket in the South-West Oltenia developing region were: general economicaldecline, in the context of internal market’s narrowing of goods and service, aswell as loss of certain important segments on the external market, delay of theprivatisation process of the important industrial objectives, investment reducingin the case of restructuring unprofitable economic agents, low mobility of thework force in territorial and professional plan, constraints determined by theinternational economic environment etc.LE MARCHÉ DU TRAVAIL DE LA RÉGION EN DEVELOPPEMENT SUD-OUEST(OLTÉNIE)(Résumé)Dans l`article sont présentées quelques considérations sur le fonctionnement desstructures régionales du marché du travail roumain, sur l`exemple de la région du développementSud-Ouest (Olténie).Les caractéristiques et les particularités, mais aussi les disfonctionnements du marchérégional du travail se trouve dans le contenu de l’article.
