Labour market of the developing region in south-west Oltenia 361In the South-West Oltenia area the proportion of occupied populationwith university education is inferior to the national average, representing only88.1% of the average; the proportion of occupied population with post highschoolstudies exceeds the national average with 25%; the proportion of highschoolgraduates is inferior to the national average and represents 92.5% of itslevel; the proportion of the people with vocational school studies represents85.9% of the national average of this training level; occupied people with middleschool studies exceed the national average and represent 113.4% (in comparisonto the national average which is 100%); occupied people with primary schoolstudies exceed the national average (of 100) with 47,4%.In rapport with other developing areas, the structure of occupiedpopulation in the South-West Oltenia area, according to the training level,presents the following characteristics:• At the “university studies” training level, it exceeds the North-East,South-East, South-Muntenia and North-West areas, being exceeded by the West,Centre and Bucharest-Ilfov regions, the last one outclassing all the other areas;• At “post high-school and master studies” training level, the South-West Oltenia area exceeds, as proportion of the occupied population, all theother regions;• At “high-school studies” training level, the occupied population ofthe analyzed region exceeds only the North-East region, being outclassed by allthe other developing regions;• At the “vocational school, complementary school or apprenticestudies” training level, except for the Bucharest-Ilfov area, the South-WestOltenia area is exceeded by all the other developing regions;• At the „middle school” training level, the proportion of occupiedpopulation the South-West Oltenia area is outclassed by the North-East region,and in turn, exceeds the following areas” South-East, South-Muntenia, West,Centre and Bucharest-Ilfov;• The proportion of occupied population in the South-West Olteniaarea, at the „primary school or non-graduate” training level is exceeded only bythe North-Eats area, which means that the general training level of thepopulation in most of the developing regions is a better one.The structure on sexes and training level of the occupied population inthe South-West Oltenia area underlines the existence of an advantage of men incomparison with women. Thus, masculine population with university studies hasa 6% proportion, while feminine population, 5.1%; regarding specialized posthigh-school studies, the proportions are 3.1% for men and 2.9% for women, forhigh-school graduates the rapport is 15% men and 13.4% women; for vocationalschool graduates men’s proportion is of 15.8%, and women’s of 6.1%; as far asmiddle-school education is concerned, the values are inverted: men represent9.9% and women 11.2%; at the training level of primary graduates, men’sproportion is of 4.4% and women’s 7.1%.
