The estates of the Glogoveanu boyars in the Dolj and the Romanaţi districts 43In 1864, on the lot from the Melineşti owned by Ecaterina Miclescuwere put in the possession of land 17 socmen (13 of them with 2 oxen, 2 of thempoor peasants, another 2 got only a parcel for building a house and for a garden),receiving 119 acres and 664 square stânjeni 16 .In 1863 the dwellers from Melineşti were at law with the leaseholder IonDimulescu. The villagers reclaimed that the leaseholder cut wood from theirforest and not from the Ecaterina Miclescu’s forest. The court designated asurveyor to establish who owned the forest. The trial lasted until 1884 andfinished with the reconciliation of the parties 17 .In 1880 18 and 1882 19 the lots from the estates Melineşti and ValeaMuierii of Ecaterina Melinescu were separated from the other ones.The estate Răcari became the property of the Glogoveanu family, afterthe marriage of Constantin Glogoveanu with Elena Otetelişanu 20 . Previously,this estate belonged to the vornic Matei Brăiloiu (1722 şi 1727 21 ) and to theOtetelişanu family (the great clucer Dincă Otetelişeanu in 1819 22 and his ladyCatinca Otetelişeanu in 1831 23 and 1843 24 ). The possession from Răcari becamethe property of the Glogoveanu family before 1849, as results from the twodocuments. The first, a petition of the inhabitants of those places in which theydeclared their discontent regarding the administrator of the estate, HristodorIvanovici 25 , and the second is a contestation of the administrator HristodorIvanovici, addressed to the rule of the Dolj district, in which he showed hisdiscontent regarding the way the inhabitants performed their duties 26 . In 1864 onthe property of Constantin Glogoveanu were put in the possession of land 216socmen (5 with 4 oxen, 130 with 2 oxen and 81 poor peasants), receiving 1305acres and 5429 and 32 m (26 prăjini) of land. In 1868, the inhabitants fromRăcari reclaimed to the authorities that Constantin Glogoveanu, the owner of theestate, took from them, a year before, a third from the land they had received in1864, asking for justice.
