TRAVEL$ENSE101If chronic, Non-Business Hours Away From Home can have a debilitating effecton employee morale, family health and personal productivity. Sometimes calledThe Divorce Factor, this tally of time on-the-road nearly always is characterizedas negative, with the higher the count, the more corrosive the effect on theemployee.If the totals are significant, this category can indicate a doubly negative effect.Time on-the-road may deny employees time with their families but it also maydeny them rest or downtime necessary to prepare mentally and physically forthe next day of work. This can become acute with late night returns home inwhich time with family is sacrificed as is adequate rest.Travel$ense does not value Non-Business Hours Away From Home, allowingthe user, travel manager, authorizer or passenger to weigh the importance ofthis factor in any travel decision. Travel$ense indirectly can value Non-BusinessHours Away From Home if non-business hours travel time is valued, as this willappear as a cost under Cost of Employee Travel Time or True Cost of EmployeeTravel Time (as valued after hours travel time).
