52REFUELING TIMETRAVEL$ENSERefueling Time is the estimate for the number of minutes it takes to fly fromlevel cruise to FBO, refuel, and climb to return to level cruise. The assumption isthat if the refueling stop were unnecessary, this time would not have to beexpended.Refueling time affects enroute productivity. Travel$ense assumes that all of therefueling time is unproductive and factors this loss into its calculations. Sinceground time is unproductive and leg dead time (ascent and descent) isunproductive, it is consistent to keep refuel time as unproductive, since it iscomposed of these two components as defined within Travel$ense (cruise-tocruisetime). To simplify scheduling, refuel time is added to the leg dead timeand one half of the total of both is removed from potentially productive time atthe beginning at end of the leg.To estimate the cost of air service for aircraft assigned an hourly chargebackcost, Travel$ense uses two-thirds of the refuel time. One third is presumed tobe uncharged ground time.Refuel times can be adjusted manually on a trip-by-trip basis. For moreinformation see, Edit Leg ETE and Refuel Time on page 77.Airline ProfilesCopyright © 1999, National Business Aviation Association, Inc.Like the other profiles inTravel$ense, the AirlineProfiles screen has adisplay grid at the topwith key details.
