To capture and compare costs of various utilizationoptions fully, you must add an aircraft profile for each option (i.e. charter, fractional ownership, time sharing) with its unique costs, then select thoseaircraft for side-by-side comparisons (i.e. Medium Bizjet, Medium Bizjet Charter,Medium Bizjet Fractional).BUSINESS HOURS/WEEKS PER YEARThis sets the default or initially selected business hour definition for employeesnewly added to the passenger database. In the absence of information onspecific individuals (which is critical to ensure the program accuracy), entertraditional hours of operation for your company.Individual business hour definitions must be solicited from individual passengersand entered into specific passenger records to ensure maximum accuracy ofthe reports Travel$ense generates. Individuals have different business hours andshould not be generalized into one average category. CEOs, for example, mayordinarily work 60-hour weeks, including normal business hours on Saturdaysand/or Sundays. Conversely, junior engineers may work only 35 hours per weekwith no weekend time. In either case, the number of hours worked per yeardirectly and substantially affects the per hour cost of an employee. Accuracy is,consequently, critical. Default business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Mondaythrough Friday only. For information on setting individual business hours, seePassenger Profiles on page 57.These default settings are used as the initial values whenever a new passengeris entered into the Travel$ense database. Changing these defaults will notchange the business hours set for passengers already created. Specify a startingand ending time for Monday through Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Also specifythe number of business weeks worked per year. The total hours per week timesthe weeks per year is divided into the cost per year for the employee levelassigned to each passenger [(salary)x(benefits)+(bonus)] to obtain an individualcost per business hour. The number of weeks worked per year allows you to factor in unpaid annualleave, unpaid holidays, or other uncompensated periods normally accounted forduring the year by your company. As most salaried employees are paid yearround, the default is 52.Cost Default SettingsUsing Time-Triggered Expenses, Travel$ense invokes default costs for certainexpenses as it tracks employees on travel over time. For instance, if anemployee is on the road during breakfast time, it is assumed that the cost ofbreakfast will be added to their expense estimate.Travel$ense uses user-defined default values for Hotel, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinnerand Miscellaneous.
