TRAVEL$ENSECHAPTER 6. CREATING TRIPS IN TRAVEL$ENSETravel$ense has been designed to be easy to use. Enormous effort has beenexpended to make the comparative analysis of up to three business aircraft andone airline travel options easy and intuitive. To accomplish the travel analysis, the Travel$ense user interface has beendivided into five tabs similar to file folders. They are labeled along the top of thescreen as Define Trip, Comparable Airline Trip, Times & Expenses, Cost Analysisand Benefit Analysis. Use of sections within the Tabs invoke several sub-screensthat are context-sensitive.• Define Trip (Tab 1), is where you provide information about your trip. You also may jump to this screen using the hotkey “Alt-D.”• Comparable Airline Trip (Tab 2) is where comparable airline informationis obtained automatically. You must click on this tab to run a trip analysis. You also may jump to this screen using the hotkey “Alt-O.”• Times & Expenses (Tab 3) details all of the times and expenses calculatedautomatically or input by you for each passenger on each leg. Editing can bedone here if needed. You also may jump to this screen using the hotkey“Alt-T.”• Cost Analysis (Tab 4) is the first of two tabs of output providing primarilycost comparisons. You also may jump to this screen using the hotkey“Alt-C.”• Benefit Analysis (Tab 5) is the second of two tabs of output fromTravel$ense providing broader comparisons such as productivity over theentire trip cycle. You also may jump to this screen using the hotkey“Alt-B.”When using Travel$ense, you can move between the five tabs by clicking on theTab titles or by typing their hotkeys.Tab One – Define Trip – always comes up first when a trip is started orrecalled.Travel$ense has been designed with operators’ logic built in; you cannot moveto Tab 2 unless certain required information in Tab 1 has been entered.Travel$ense calculations are accomplished internally on an individual basis andtotaled where indicated. No average values are used except where indicated.61Copyright © 1999, National Business Aviation Association, Inc.
