44TRAVEL$ENSEThird, over- or under-valuing after hours travel time creates an inequity incomparison, creating a perceived unreasonable bias towards either a corporateor airline option in the resulting decision matrix of a given trip.This selection has a dramatic and complex effect on the decision matrix andshould be carefully considered. The default setting is 50.BACKUP PATHThis field automatically contains the database path for the <strong>Travel$ense</strong> database(now called trav$3.mdb in Release 3, previously trav$.mdb in Release 2 andtrvl$nse.mdb in version 1). For more information, see Database Backup andRestore on page 125.SORT AIRPORT PICK LISTWhen city pairs are defined by clicking on the From or To boxes on the middleof Tab 1, the airports dialog box pops up, listing all airports with hard surfacerunways over 3,000 feet. To select a particular airport, the user has a choice oftyping either the first few letters of a city name, an airport name or an airportidentifier.Users can change these sort orders on the fly. This default merely selects whichsort order comes up first. The default setting is City.PASSENGER LEVELS PASSWORD PROTECTION<strong>Travel$ense</strong> provides the option topassword protect the salary andbonus information stored withemployee levels. Protection can be added or removed by clicking on the buttonon the Miscellaneous Tab. Initially there is no password protection,;the textindicates this, and the button caption is Add Password. Please review the noteregarding security concerns in Network Installation on page 17.To add a password, click on Add Password and input a 4 to 12-characterpassword on the screen that pops up, repeating it to check for accuracy. Click“OK.”After adding this password, access to the Employee Levels screens (Profilesmenu) will not be permitted unless the password is input. When viewing thelevels information after providing the password, ***** appears in the salary andbonus columns in the upper table. The correct values appear in the boxesbelow as you click on that row.In addition, the salary and bonus information in the database file is encrypted,ensuring that the information would not be visible using other access tools. Theremainder of the <strong>Travel$ense</strong> database is fully available to be accessed by avariety of common software tools.Copyright © 1999, National Business Aviation Association, Inc.
