TRAVEL$ENSE87In addition to the type of fare you are promptedto select a Pricing Method. For trips whereairline flights are not “priceable,” only the lastoption, fare lookup, is available. For priceabletrips you can run the airline reservation systempricing program only, look up fares only or firsthave <strong>Travel$ense</strong> try and price and then look upfares if necessary (default).In order to price a trip that already has occurredor for which the leg 1 departure time is lessthan four hours ahead, you must first click on“Clear” to erase all flight information. Then clickon “Get Fares” and <strong>Travel$ense</strong> will prompt youconfirm it’s “time-shift” for the trip in order toget flight and fare information. This is necessaryto keep flights and fares synchronized. Flightnumbers and times change frequently and<strong>Travel$ense</strong> would not be able to run the airline reservation system pricing inthe event of any such changes. For more information see, Time-Shifting PastAirline Trips on page 88.Editing Automatically Defined Airline ComparisonsYou do not need to accept <strong>Travel$ense</strong> recommended comparable airlineflights. For whatever reason, you may disagree with scoring and calculationswithin <strong>Travel$ense</strong>. Remember, however, that selecting another itinerary maynot meet the time-on-site goals the passengers stipulated earlier, or may soincrease enroute times that any cost benefit will be offset to the point wherethey are penalized. You may also adjust the automatically obtained fare data toaccount for corporate discounts or other factors.Selecting Other Airline TripsTo define your own “winners” from the lists of potentially comparable airlineflights, first chose the leg using the drop down list in the middle of the screen.This will change the list below of airline flights to those you can consider. Youalso can change the lower display by clicking in the left column (leg) of theupper display.Next, click on the “Define Trip” button at the top of the screen. The cursor willchange to a cross-hair icon.
