Business aircraft offer less enroute elapsed time than scheduled airlinesbecause of less taxi time, more direct routing, flexible flight planning andavoidance of routing via airline connecting hubs.4. Significantly reduced ground time is achieved by avoiding airline passengerand baggage handling procedures, as well as gaining faster check-in andsecurity procedures and more efficient ground transportation.The analytical reviews contained herein represent findings of a number ofindependent studies undertaken by <strong>NBAA</strong> on behalf of clients who had severalcategories of interest:• Users of business aircraft who face challenges regarding tax or businessexpense allowance factors. In these instances, the values being received, aswell as the costs thereof, must be effectively determined and documented.• Current users of business aircraft who seek to determine if changes in typeand model of aircraft are appropriate.• Current business aircraft users who are sensitive to advances in aircraftperformance and operational capabilities, as well as changes in theirbusiness travel requirements. These changes might provide opportunitiesto enhance their business ventures.• Companies that wish to determine whether business aircraft might be usedto improve their effectiveness and/or profitability.157These studies were compiled for clients who had become attracted to thepossibility of business aircraft as an opportunity for expanding a businessventure or improving end results in terms of increased revenues, reduced costs,retaining key personnel and/or better profitability.Use of business aircraft involves costs that can be calculated readily. However,the availability of such aircraft to meet specific unique travel requirementsmakes possible the expansion of business opportunities otherwise unrealized.Questions to be answered, then, are how much more can a key executive orspecial talent employee accomplish when he has the availability of an aircraft asa business tool, and what is the value of business aircraft in widening companyoptions with respect to such strategic planning matters as geographic plantlocations?Extensive cost-benefit studies of business aviation have found significantadvantages to aircraft users, from the largest multi-site corporations toindividual entrepreneurs.
