Basic Settings<br />

First, you need to define the setting for the controlling area necessary to set up profit center accounting.<br />

Secondly, you need to maintain the global settings for profit center accounting in the controlling area. To set<br />

your controlling area, follow this menu path: IMG: Controlling ➤ Profit Center Accounting ➤ Basic Settings<br />

➤ Set Controlling Area Settings. Or use transaction code OKKS.<br />

The Set Controlling Area dialog box is displayed. Enter your controlling area (C900) in the Controlling<br />

Area field and click the Enter button to confirm.<br />

Maintain Controlling Area Settings<br />

Problem: You are tasked with maintaining the controlling area setting for your client’s<br />

company code C900. As additional information, you were told by the accounting team<br />

that the settings for the profit center currency type should be based on controlling area<br />

currency and the valuation view should be based on legal valuation.<br />

Settings in this exercise will define the general control parameters for your current controlling area as<br />

it relates to a profit center in SAP R/3. To go to the maintain controlling area settings, follow this menu path:<br />

IMG: Controlling ➤ Profit Center Accounting ➤ Basic Settings ➤ Controlling Area Settings ➤ Maintain<br />

Controlling Area Settings. Or use transaction code OKE5.<br />

The Change View “EC-PCA: Controlling Area Settings”: Overview screen is displayed (Figure 18-32).<br />

The system will use defaults based on the controlling area section of the page.<br />
