verbal and nonverbal communication skills, expectations to participate in social or
social interaction are very limited, trouble changing behavior, coping with unexpected
changes in daily work or environment is extremely difficult, great interference or
difficulty changing focus or attention.
People with at least level 3 autism often need highly intensive treatment,
focusing on a variety of issues, including communication and behavior. They may also
benefit from medication. Although there are no medications specifically for autism,
some medications can help manage specific symptoms or concurrent illnesses, such as
depression or focus on illness.
People with this level of autism may also need caregivers to help them learn basic
skills and make them successful in school, home or work.
3.5 Causes
Researchers have identified many things. It is very doubtful that the incidence
of autism has been rising in recent years without fully explaining the cause. Genes
related to disease. Imaging studies of patients with autism found that there are
differences in the development of several regions of the brain. Studies have shown that
autism may be the result of disrupted normal brain growth early in development.
These damages may be more common in premature infants. Environmental factors
may also play a role in gene function and development, but specific environmental
causes have not yet been determined. For a long time, relevant studies have shown that
vaccination against childhood infectious diseases does not increase the risk of autism
in the population.
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke
(NINDS), both genetics and environment may determine whether a person develops
autism. The causes might be having an immediate family member with autism, genetic
mutations, fragile X syndrome and other genetic disorders, being born to older parents,
low birth weight, metabolic imbalances, exposure to heavy metals and environmental
toxins, a history of viral infections and fetal exposure to the medications valproic acid
(Depakene) or thalidomide (Thalomid).
