Mus 361. Music from 1600 to 1750. 3 hours.<br />
Analysis <strong>of</strong> representative works from Monteverdi to Domenico Scarlatti.<br />
Differentiation <strong>of</strong> musical styles; various national schools; performance<br />
practice,. and musical thought; development <strong>of</strong> forms and procedures that<br />
continue into the twentieth century, such as opera, concerto, fugue, sonata,<br />
