GROUP REQUIREMENT 71<br />

Application for Degree<br />

All students who intend to receive a degree from the <strong>University</strong> must make<br />

application by filing the proper form in the Registrar's Office. This should be done<br />

several months in advance <strong>of</strong> the expected commencement date; late application<br />

may delay graduation. All <strong>University</strong> academic and financial obligations must be<br />

satisfied before any degree will be conferred.<br />

Group Requirement<br />

ALL CANDIDATES for a bachelor's degree are required to complete work in<br />

general education through selected lower-division courses from an approved list<br />

(numbered 100-120, 200-220). The regulations governing the group requirement<br />

are stated on page 69. The courses approved for satisfaction <strong>of</strong> the four-sequence<br />

group requirement are listed below. Enrollment in courses designated "H.C." is<br />

restricted to students in the Honors College. Liberal arts majors may elect<br />

courses from an additional list <strong>of</strong> upper-division courses (numbered 300-310) for<br />

the satisfaction <strong>of</strong> the College requirement <strong>of</strong> two additional group sequences for<br />

its majors; these courses are listed on page 125.<br />
