c. Failure of existing LAWA equipment provided failure was not due to Contractor<br />

furnished equipment, installation, or software.<br />

3. When performance of integrated system does not fall within the above rates, determine<br />

cause of deficiencies, correct, <strong>and</strong> retest.<br />

4. When requested by the <strong>Design</strong> Consultant, extend monitoring period for a time as<br />

designated by the <strong>Design</strong> Consultant.<br />

5. Period shall not exceed 60 days exclusive of retesting periods caused by termination of<br />

Phases I or III <strong>and</strong> assessment period of Phases II <strong>and</strong> IV.<br />

6. Submit final report of endurance testing containing all recorded data.<br />

3.5 SYSTEM STARTUP<br />

A. Upon completion of the installation of all equipment in an area, perform the following tests <strong>and</strong><br />

record results. Verify safe <strong>and</strong> proper operation of all components, devices, or equipment,<br />

establish nominal signal levels within the systems <strong>and</strong> verify the absence of extraneous or<br />

degrading signals. Make all preliminary adjustments <strong>and</strong> document the setting of all controls,<br />

parameters of all corrective networks, voltages at key system interconnection points, gains <strong>and</strong><br />

losses, as applicable. Submit test report. Correct all non-conforming conditions prior to<br />

requesting Acceptance Testing. Perform at least the following procedures:<br />

B. Mechanical. Verify:<br />

1. Integrity of all support provisions.<br />

2. Absence of debris of any kind, tools, etc.<br />

C. Power <strong>and</strong> Isolated Ground. Verify:<br />

1. Isolation of Isolated Ground system from raceway <strong>and</strong> related ground.<br />

2. Grounding of devices <strong>and</strong> equipment. Integrity of signal <strong>and</strong> technical power system<br />

ground connections.<br />

3. Proper provision of power to devices <strong>and</strong> equipment.<br />

D. Signal Wiring. Verify:<br />

1. Integrity of all insulation, shield terminations <strong>and</strong> connections.<br />

2. Integrity of soldered connections. Absence of solder splatter, solder bridges.<br />

3. Routing <strong>and</strong> dressing of wire <strong>and</strong> cable.<br />

4. Continuity, including conformance with wire designations on running sheets, field <strong>and</strong><br />

shop drawings.<br />
