O. Wire <strong>and</strong> Cable<br />

1. Low voltage wire <strong>and</strong> cable shall be provided <strong>and</strong> installed as required<br />

2. Wire <strong>and</strong> cable shall be selected, sized <strong>and</strong> used as appropriate for the device application<br />

in accordance with the device manufacturer’s specifications, voltage <strong>and</strong> load, <strong>and</strong><br />

distance of the wire/cable run<br />

3. Wire <strong>and</strong> cable runs shall be “home run”<br />

4. Mid run splices are not permitted<br />

5. Wire <strong>and</strong> cable shall be Belden, West Penn, Contractors Wire <strong>and</strong> Cable, or approved<br />

equal<br />

2.3 MATERIALS<br />

A. Color <strong>and</strong> Finish Selection:<br />

1. In all public areas <strong>and</strong> in all other areas visible from public areas or from the exterior of<br />

the building, colors <strong>and</strong> finishes shall match the custom color <strong>and</strong> finish samples on file<br />

with the Owner. In all other areas, applicable colors <strong>and</strong> finishes shall be selected by the<br />

Owner from the manufacturer’s st<strong>and</strong>ard color <strong>and</strong> finish schedule. For such areas,<br />

submit manufacturer’s st<strong>and</strong>ard color <strong>and</strong> finish schedule(s).<br />

2.4 EQUIPMENT<br />

A. All equipment shall be installed in accordance with this specification. Provide <strong>and</strong> install any<br />

<strong>and</strong> all equipment necessary to provide a complete <strong>and</strong> operating system, <strong>and</strong> meet the full<br />

intent of this design <strong>and</strong> other specifications within these construction documents. Any<br />

equipment such as consumables, terminators, or any other materials or equipment needed to<br />

install this system shall be considered ancillary <strong>and</strong> be provided as a part of this project.<br />

Contractor shall provide cable for all security systems <strong>and</strong> integration of sub-systems. Cable<br />

shall be provided in accordance with manufacturer specifications for the equipment it is<br />

terminating to.<br />

2.5 UPS<br />

A. All equipment will be powered by a UPS with a capability to support operations for at least four<br />

hours after supply power loss. All power will be obtained from emergency power sources.<br />
