Scope of Services Draft
documentation, there are several goals that need to be achieved.
Documents must:
2.2.1.1 Be sufficient to secure any Code reviews that are required.
2.2.1.2 Convey to the City the nature of elements and systems prior to
fabrication or construction.
2.2.1.3 Demonstrate compliance with performance criteria detailed in the
Program Criteria Document and any subsequent direction provided to
the DB.
2.2.1.4 Provide necessary information for long-term maintenance and repair.
2.3. Approval for alternative documentation
2.3.1. The DB is required to provide the listed conventional Design-Bid-Build
documentation unless the City gives prior approval for alternative
documentation.
2.3.2. The DB shall make a written request for alternative documentation prior to
beginning production of such documentation. The request shall:
2.3.2.1 Indicate how the alternative documentation will save time and/or
money.
2.3.2.2 Demonstrate that the requirements for alternative documentation
listed above are met.
2.4. Design Phase Deliverables
2.4.1. For major Design Phase Submittals at 30%, 60% and 100%, the level of
completion is stated as an average of all documentation. The level of
completion of individual documents may vary from the average in order to
ensure that adequate information is provided to support the cost proposal
made in conjunction with the document submittal.
2.4.1.1 Design Phase Submittal documentation shall include an updated
Program Criteria Document.
2.4.1.2 Level of completion should be greatest for systems, sub systems or
components where additional detail will substantially increase pricing
accuracy.
2.4.1.3 Level of completion must be adequate to define the quality and extent
of systems, sub systems or components in sufficient detail to serve as
the baseline the DB’s project delivery.
2.4.1.4 Certain systems, sub systems or components may have less detailed
documentation and still adequately support estimating and scope
definition.
3. GENERAL PROJECT DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS
3.1. CAD Procedures and Standards:
3.1.1. Maintain a CAD Procedures Manual to govern the production of Contract
Drawings using CAD. Adoption of the Airport’s CADD standards as part of
this Manual is required. The Manual must be comprehensive, and as such
can easily exceed several hundred pages.
