construction traffic, deliveries, <strong>and</strong> employee travel. Haul routes shall be<br />

located away from residential areas. <strong>Construction</strong> trucks will not be<br />

allowed on:<br />

a) 104 th Street between Hawthorne Boulevard <strong>and</strong> Inglewood<br />

Avenue;<br />

b) Inglewood Avenue between Century Boulevard <strong>and</strong> Imperial<br />

Highway; <strong>and</strong><br />

c) Lennox Boulevard between Hawthorne Boulevard <strong>and</strong> Inglewood<br />

Ave.<br />

d) Others as required.<br />

The Contractor shall be responsible for maintenance of haul routes.<br />

<strong>Construction</strong> Material Stockpiles Locations <strong>and</strong> Maintenance<br />

Stockpile locations will be off airport property unless otherwise approved by LAWA.<br />

Air Pollution Control<br />

The Applicant/Contractor shall not discharge smoke, dust equipment exhaust, or any<br />

other air contaminants into the atmosphere in such quantity as will violate any<br />

Federal, State or local regulations. The Applicant/Contractor shall also abate dust<br />

nuisance by cleaning, sweeping <strong>and</strong> spraying with water or other means as deemed<br />

necessary.<br />

Dust Control<br />

A. The Contractor will be responsible for removing from the Site <strong>and</strong> other public<br />

areas, excavated materials <strong>and</strong> debris resulting from the Work. Vehicles exiting<br />

the Site shall have all dirt clods <strong>and</strong> mud removed from their tires.<br />

B. The Contractor will contain dust <strong>and</strong> remove it from the Site at intervals sufficient<br />

to prevent contamination outside work limits <strong>and</strong> as directed by the Engineer.<br />

The Contractor shall use adequate watering techniques to alleviate accumulation<br />

of construction-generated dust.<br />

1) The Contractor will be responsible for containment of dust emission from all<br />

construction, transport, storage or h<strong>and</strong>ling activities, in accordance with<br />

South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 403: Fugitive<br />

Dust.<br />

2) The Contractor will be responsible for the continuous clean-up of all<br />

construction-related dirt on approach routes to the Site.<br />

3) The Contractor shall furnish trash bins for all debris resulting from<br />

<strong>Construction</strong>. All debris shall be placed in trash bins daily. Forms or false<br />

work that are to be reused shall be stacked neatly as they are being<br />

removed. Forms <strong>and</strong> falsework that are not to be reused shall be disposed of<br />

immediately upon their removal.<br />

4) The Contractor shall comply with California Vehicle Code 23114 which states<br />

in part that “A vehicle may not be driven or moved on any highway unless the<br />

vehicle is so constructed, covered, or loaded so as to prevent any of its<br />

contents or load other than clear water from dropping, sifting, leaking,<br />

blowing, spilling, or otherwise escaping from the vehicle.”<br />
