2. Surface-Burning Characteristics: Acoustical panels complying with ASTM E 1264 for<br />

Class A materials, when tested per ASTM E 84.<br />

C. Seismic St<strong>and</strong>ard: Comply with the following:<br />

1. <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> Department of Building <strong>and</strong> Safety Document requirements.<br />

D. Mockups: Build mockups to verify selections made under sample Submittals <strong>and</strong> to<br />

demonstrate aesthetic effects <strong>and</strong> qualities of materials <strong>and</strong> execution.<br />

1. Approved mockups are not to become part of the completed Work.<br />

1.6 EXTRA MATERIALS<br />

A. Furnish extra materials described below that match products installed <strong>and</strong> that are packaged<br />

with protective covering for storage <strong>and</strong> identified with labels describing contents.<br />

2.2 GENERAL<br />

NOTE: Refer to LADBS document number P/BC 2008-40: Recommended St<strong>and</strong>ards for<br />

Suspended Ceiling Assemblies. This document provides guidelines for designing <strong>and</strong><br />

installing a suspended ceiling assembly <strong>and</strong> provides st<strong>and</strong>ard support configurations for<br />

typical conditions. This document can be found online at www.ladbs.org.<br />

NOTE: The ceiling installing shall not installed until the installation mock up has been<br />

approved by LAWA.<br />

1. Products: Subject to compliance with LAWA selection criteria <strong>and</strong> requirements,<br />

C. Acoustical Panel St<strong>and</strong>ard: Comply with ASTM E 1264.<br />

1. Recycled Content: Provide acoustical panels with recycled content such that postconsumer<br />

recycled content plus one-half of pre-consumer recycled content constitutes a<br />

D. Low-Emitting Materials: Acoustical tile ceilings shall comply with the testing <strong>and</strong> product<br />

requirements of the California Department of Health Services' "St<strong>and</strong>ard Practice for the<br />
