L. Baked Enamel Finish: Prime finish per above. Unless specified "prime finish" only, apply <strong>and</strong><br />

bake three (3) additional coats of enamel in the selected solid color.<br />

M. Glass: Laminated safety glass, minimum 9/16-inch thick, conforming to ANSI Z97.1 <strong>and</strong><br />

CPSC 16 CFR Part 1201.<br />

2.3 SPECIAL FEATURES:<br />

A. General<br />

1. Elevator size, arrangement <strong>and</strong> capacity shall be justified via thorough analysis of<br />

passenger <strong>and</strong> material transport needs <strong>and</strong> shall comply with design criteria specified in<br />

this Section 3.7.1 <strong>and</strong> 3.7.2. Elevators shall be provided in accordance with the<br />

requirements of CCR Title 8 <strong>and</strong> the ASME A17.1-Safety Code for Elevators <strong>and</strong><br />

Escalators, hereinafter in this Section the "Code".<br />

2. Provide all material <strong>and</strong> equipment necessary for the complete execution of all elevator<br />

work as specified in this Section <strong>and</strong> as shown on the Contract Drawings.<br />

3. Provide hoistway guards for protecting hoistway during construction. In existing<br />

terminals, hoistway protection shall include high solid panels surrounding each hoistway<br />

opening at each floor.<br />

4. All electric equipment, conduit, fittings <strong>and</strong> wiring shall conform to the requirements of<br />

ANSI/NFPA No. 70 National Electric Code.<br />

5. Provide concrete inserts <strong>and</strong> other similar anchoring devices for the installation of guide<br />

rails, machinery <strong>and</strong> other elevator components. Epoxy ceiling anchors or epoxy side<br />

wall anchors shall not be permitted.<br />

6. Clearance around equipment located in each elevator control room <strong>and</strong> machine area<br />

shall comply with the applicable provisions of ANSI/NFPA No. 70 National Electrical<br />

Code.<br />
