D. Access to Equipment.<br />

1. All motors, valves, control devices, equipment, specialties, etc. shall be located for easy<br />

access for operation, repair <strong>and</strong> maintenance. If items are concealed, provide access doors<br />

of size required for easy access to the items.<br />

E. List of Materials <strong>and</strong> Equipment<br />

1. All items of material <strong>and</strong> equipment required by this section shall bear the approval of the<br />

LAWA prior to the start of any work. The Contractor shall submit all items requiring<br />

such approval, allowing ample time for checking <strong>and</strong> processing, <strong>and</strong> shall assume all<br />

responsibility for delays incurred due to rejected items. Neatly bind together submittal<br />

information covering all items into one or several packages; separate submittal of<br />

individual items not allowed. The procedure for submitting material shall be as specified<br />

herein. Within thirty (30) days after award of Contract, submit for approval, product<br />

information with at least the following minimum data for all materials, appurtenances,<br />

<strong>and</strong> equipment required under this section, including where applicable:<br />

a. Job name.<br />

b. Job location.<br />

c. Governing specification paragraph or subparagraphs, <strong>and</strong> governing drawing<br />

number.<br />

d. Dimensional information.<br />

e. Performance ratings, including at least the following, where applicable:<br />

1) Capacity in Btu per Hour.<br />

2) Water quantity.<br />

3) Entering <strong>and</strong> leaving water temperatures.<br />

4) Water pressure drop.<br />

5) Fouling factor.<br />

f. Pump size, RPM.<br />

g. <strong>Design</strong> working pressures.<br />

h. Motor horsepower <strong>and</strong>/or current rating; equipment current rating; voltage<br />

characteristics.<br />

i. Wiring diagrams for all equipment <strong>and</strong> control systems under this section requiring<br />

electrical connections.<br />

j. Cuts of all equipment, controls, thermometers, gauges <strong>and</strong> temperature indicators.<br />

F. Substitutions <strong>and</strong> equal products<br />

1. Named Manufacturers<br />

a. All design has been done with the first named equipment in each specification<br />

section of this Division.<br />

b. The first named manufacturer is the st<strong>and</strong>ard of quality, performance, space<br />

requirements, <strong>and</strong> coordination with other Divisions on the project.<br />

c. Any names beyond the first named is an acceptable manufacturer. However, being<br />

listed as an acceptable manufacturer does not imply that the manufacturer has a<br />
