Monastic Island of Reicheneau - UNESCO: World Heritage

of Baden-Württemberg. From 1986-2000 around 2 Million DEM
were spent on repairs at tower, western transept, sacristy and nave.
In the context of a renovation programme for villages 75-80 objects
within the boundaries of the municipality of Reichenau were granted
an overall sum of 970,000.00 DEM. Since such public grants are
limited to 30% of the overall costs the investment volume sums up to
around 3 million DEM.
For repairs on Königseck Castle the municipality spent 1.5 million
DEM.
The Landesdenkmalamt (State Administration for the Conservation
of Cultural Monuments) provides grants for construction measures
on ecclesiastical and private buildings on the monastic island by
distributing means of the State of Baden-Württemberg (mainly
returns of the national lottery). From 1975-1999 grants were given to
the following measures:
