of Ammon heads. Evidence of another kind is available
in the copper coin reading 0E (see below, No. 99), and
in a gold stater of Attic weight and Alexandrine types,
inscribed HTOAEMAin KYPANAIOM in Athens. The
latter bears as symbol a silphium plant accompanied by
0EY, 121 which shows that after 308 there was a magis-
trate at Gyrene whose name began with the letters
0EY- -.
The EIAnNO group is closely connected with
flOAIAN0EY by the inscription AAMU, and it can
be more suitably placed after, than before, that magistrate,
since we have no gold reading EIA1NO$,
and the sequence of types would also be more orderly,
as is shown by the following list :
