NO02 Professional Doctorate in<br />

Psychology<br />

This is a three year full-time higher degree by research.<br />

Students undertake a substantial research project and<br />

report this in the form of a major thesis. In addition,<br />

graduates from the course complete all coursework subjects<br />

and practicum experience placements which make up the<br />

Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program.<br />

There will normally be an intake of up to five new entrants<br />

each year. The School may vary the frequency of intake<br />

and the number of new entrants depending on the<br />

availability of staff to provide suitable research supervision.<br />

In order to be admitted to the course, an applicant must<br />

hold a first or upper second class honours degree in<br />

psychology from a recognised Australian university (or<br />

hold qualifications deemed by the University's <strong>Higher</strong><br />

Degree Committee to be equivalent) and be eligible for<br />

Associate Membership of the Australian Psychological<br />

Society. Intending applicants should consult with the<br />

Coordinator of the program before lodging an application.<br />
