11.5.7 Powers of the Assessment Conduct
Appeals Committee
The actions available to the
Committee shall include:
a) find the decision of the
Assessment Conduct Committee
roved and allow the ~enalty
imposed by that committee
stand;
b) find the decision of the
Assessment Conduct Committee
proved but modify the penalty;
c) find the decision of the
Assessment Conduct Committee
not proved and cancel the
penalty imposed by it upon the
student;
d) find the decision of the
Assessment Conduct Committee
not proved and allow the
student to submit further
appropriate work should an
action under c) not be sufficient
to recompense the student
academically;
The decision of the Assessment
Conduct Appeals Committee
will be by a majority vote.
11.5.8 Action
a) The student shall be informed of
the decision and reason for the
decision of the Assessment
Conduct Appeals Committee.
Such written advice shall be
mailed to the student's semester
address shown in the
University's records, within five
working days of the
Committee's decision being
made.
b) No further appeal against any
decision is possible to any
officer or body within the
University.
12. Results
12.1 Result categories
12.1.1 The following assessment categories
will normally be used to record a
student's performance in a subject:

Not pass because of late

either by examination or other
form of assessment or both.

12.1.2 Where it is not appropriate for
results in a subject to be issued
through the full range of categories
authorised by these procedures, two
categories only shall be used:

If this provision is used a statement
shall be included in the published
results to the effect that only one
category of satisfactory achievement
was awarded in the subject
concerned.
12.1.3 Where a student has passed a last
subject to complete award
supplementary examination granted
pursuant to Section 15 below, SUP
(Supplementary Assessment) will be
entered on the system. The results
of this examination will be recorded
as follows:

12.1.4 In courses in Arts, the following
result, approved by Academic Board
for use from first semester 1993,
may be used to indicate that the
student has passed the subject but
may not proceed to a stage I, 2 or 3
subject when the subject in which
the PX result is awarded is a prerequisite.
