The main objectives of Italian 3X are to consolidate<br />

Objectives and Content<br />

This subject is highly recommended for students with an<br />

interest in the European Union and for students enrolled for<br />

the Double Degree BBus/BA(Italian). It will provide an<br />

opportunity to examine the application of EU regulation,<br />

both from an end-user perspective and from the perspective<br />

of third countries such as Australia. It consists of a study<br />

tour of the institutions of the European Union, as well as<br />

European business institutions, and includes some work<br />

experience in a European enterprise/organisation.<br />

AA31 3 Contemporary Italy<br />

Objectives and Content<br />

The subject is designed to make students aware of some of<br />

the main areas of Italy's achievements and to develop in<br />

students an understanding of the important economic,<br />

commercial, political, social and cultural aspects of Italy's<br />

changing reality.<br />

Note: In order to complete a major in Italian, AA309 and<br />

AA310 (Beginner's stream) or AA306 and AA307 (post-VCE<br />

stream) are normally completed prior to, or concuwently with<br />

AA313.<br />

AA375 Industry Based Learning in<br />

Europe<br />

Prerequisite: any stage two Business and/or Arts subjects<br />

Objectives and Content<br />

The objective of this elective is to provide students with a three<br />

month experience of living in a European country and working<br />

in a European company as a regular employee. The Industry<br />

Based Learning subject aims to provide students with the<br />

linguistic skills and cultural competence critical to the<br />

international trade environment. The subject provides an<br />

opportunity for students to gain that essential hands-on<br />

expe.nence in the European Union business world by exposing<br />

the students to the commercial environment of the European<br />

This subject will expose students to the cultural, political<br />

and regulatory environments that currently constitute the<br />

European Union. The basis of the course is a study tour to<br />
