Roach200Special Attacks: A petitioner loses all supernaturaland spell-like abilities but retains normal attacks andexceptional abilities.Special Qualities: A petitioner loses all supernaturaland spell-like abilities but retains exceptional abilities. Inaddition, it gains <strong>the</strong> following qualities.Mental Immunity (Ex): All petitionersare immune to mind-influencingeffects. This may be due to <strong>the</strong>mindless nature <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir existence,devotion to <strong>the</strong>ir deities,or being surrounded by a similarlyaligned plane.Immunities (Ex): Dependingon <strong>the</strong> nature <strong>of</strong> itsnative plane, a petitionergains immunity againsttwo <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> followingeffects: acid, cold, electricity,fire, poison,petrification, and polymorphing.These immunitiesare appliedsimilarly to all petitioners<strong>of</strong> a particularplane or deity.See Chapter 7: TheOuter <strong>Planes</strong> for moredetails.Resistances (Ex): Dependingon <strong>the</strong> nature <strong>of</strong> itsnative plane, <strong>the</strong> petitionergains resistance 20against two <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following:acid, cold, electricity, andfire. Chapter 7 has detailson which petitionershave which immunities.Planar Commitment (Ex):Petitioners cannot leave <strong>the</strong>plane <strong>the</strong>y inhabit. They areteleported 100 miles in a randomdirection if an attempt is made t<strong>of</strong>orce <strong>the</strong>m to leave.Additional Special Qualities: Particular planes may provideadditional benefits for petitioners <strong>of</strong> those planes.Typical additional special qualities may include any <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> following:• Damage reduction 5/silver and SR 5.• Continual magic circle against evil.• Fast healing 1.• Damage reduction 10/+1.• Spell resistance 10.• Additional 2d8 HD.• Remove all immunities and resistances except immunityto mind-influencing effects. Add acid, cold, electricity,and fire resistance 5.Saves: Base saving throw bonuses are +3.Abilities: Same as <strong>the</strong> base creature. Some cosmologiesor particularly insecure deities may set a maximum<strong>of</strong> 18 for petitioners’ ability scores. Abilities higher thanthat are reduced to <strong>the</strong> maximum.Skills: Petitioners have no skills. Previousskills are lost.Feats: Petitioners have no feats. Previousfeats are lost.Climate/Terrain: Any land and underground(within <strong>the</strong> native plane).Organization: Same as <strong>the</strong> base creature.Challenge Rating: 1.Treasure: None.Alignment: Same as <strong>the</strong> native plane.Advancement: None.Exceptional PetitionersThe deities may choose particularservants for specific tasks who mayremember something <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir previousselves. These exceptionalpetitioners retain <strong>the</strong> feats andskills that <strong>the</strong>y had in life but areo<strong>the</strong>rwise limited as <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rpetitioners <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir plane are.Sample PetitionerThis is a petitioner froman example chaotic evilplane. A specific planein <strong>the</strong> core cosmology(such as <strong>the</strong> Abyss) maybestow additional specialqualities.
