On the technical side the formation of the Society is finished. At acertain moment it is necessary to register it, and then we will have aSociety. But work with groups can start and go on only when we havean adequate place. Running or buying a house needs money, and atpresent, with the means we have, we can only exist as we are. We areshort of money and cannot spend much—we can only just move,nothing more. So it is necessary to have more money.I have decided to make one experiment. I have certain books that Iwant to publish: one novel, a new edition of Tertium Organum,maybe some lectures. But that will take time, it is impossible to sayhow much time this work will take, but when these books arepublished, I think that will give enough money. Besides, in three years'time, we shall have the New Model in our hands (until then it is inthe hands of the publishers, and it is not satisfactory). In many places itcannot be found and it is too little known. It would be useful topublish a cheap edition of it, and then it may sell very well. In Russia Ipublished all my books myself and had quite a good income fromthem. It is a question of a cheap edition.The novel is connected with the idea of Eternal Recurrence. Someof you may have read it. It needs time to prepare it for publication.First I must go through the Russian text (for it was written andpublished in Russian long ago), and then through the translation, andwork on the translation takes a great deal of time. Then these lecturesmust be rewritten, and may be published. Then I have for a long timewanted to bring Tertium Organum up to date, to connect it with theNew Model—at present some of the terminology is different, and soon.All this I can do only if I have more time. So you must not expectme to give so much time to these lectures. I will come when I can,from time to time, but not to every meeting.How you will be organized you will hear. You will have probablyfour or five groups a week, maybe five, if we have a new one. But Iwill not come every day, so you must be able to go on and do yourown work and the work you can do for other people, and for theschool, and you must try to understand why this is necessary.If books are published and are successful, all our problems will besolved. It will take a year, maybe two years, I cannot tell. So this is thesituation at present.
