He works through considering, negativeemotions, imagination. But if you fight against these dangers, you aresafe. Terrified, the monk cried,'Forgive me, I do not know how I could have done such a thing, thedevil tempted me.' But the devil jumped out from behind the stove,shouting indignantly, 'This is quite unfair, I have only this minutelearned from you how to cook eggs by candle flame, I did not know itcould be done.']Q . Why is he so powerful?

The devil was very thin and miserableand looked starved. The sly man asked what was the matter, and thedevil answered that all the devils in hell had fallen on evil times. Theyfed on souls, and in the past many people had fat souls, but nowpeople were mostly born without souls at all, and all the devils werehungry. The sly man asked the devil if he knew how to make souls,and the devil said he did. So the sly man suggested that the devilshould teach him to make souls and he would undertake to producemen with souls for the devil's benefit. The devil agreed. The sly manbecame very busy, organized schools and began to teach men selfremembering.But although men grew souls they still fell into thehands of the devil when they died, which was not what the sly manhad intended.One day when a man with a fat soul died, he was met at the gates of
