Where does it comefrom?MR. O. There is not a drop of conscious evil. Evil that exists is alwaysmechanical on our level and in our conditions. Evil is always mechanical,but mechanicalness is not all evil.MRS. A . If evil is human, and does not go beyond man, is therenothing in the symbolical story of Lucifer? And is everything on thecosmic plane harmonious?MR. O. This is too far, perhaps later we may come to that. The cosmicplane has many planes. In the Ray of Creation in World 1 everythinghappens according to the Will of the Absolute, everything is premeditatedand must be harmonious. Inside this world are created worlds 3.We will take one of them. World 3 is under the direct guidance of theAbsolute, so again nothing wrong can happen there. In World 6something is already mechanical. Mechanicalness begins in World 6,then it grows the lower you go; the three manifestations that are notmechanical become less and less, and more and more begins to dependon mechanicalness. So on the cosmic scale there are many planes.MRS. A . As we arrive on earth with essence, is it not possible that thepeople who act well, even though unconsciously, must have workedon essence and personality in a previous existence?MR. O. Leave out the word 'previous'. If one can do both good andevil equally unconsciously, good has no value. The whole thing is tohave control.MRS. A . I am afraid I have not yet extracted the essence from theBrahmin story. What was lacking in the Brahmin? I seem to knowquite a number of people, even quite good people, who have thisquality of being impossible to help. Is this being asleep? Lack ofconsciousness? What is it?MR. O.
