This is a high-level postgraduate course taught <strong>in</strong> English which aims to provide<br />

graduate students with <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary knowledge, <strong>in</strong>formation and expertise <strong>in</strong><br />

European affairs, build<strong>in</strong>g understand<strong>in</strong>g of the political, economic and cultural<br />

character of both the region of Central and Eastern Europe and the European project<br />

which today provides its context. Students follow core, specialisation and optional<br />

classes <strong>in</strong> an array of fields accord<strong>in</strong>g to their <strong>in</strong>terests, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g politics, EU affairs,<br />

literature, history, economics and Jewish studies over the course of two to four<br />

semesters of study. Language classes, an MA sem<strong>in</strong>ar and an MA thesis are also<br />

elements of the programme. Three specialisations are available:<br />

– EU Studies: focuses <strong>in</strong> the EU and European <strong>in</strong>stitutions and the key issues fac<strong>in</strong>g<br />

them, and students develop a Central European perspective on the European<br />

<strong>in</strong>tegration process<br />

– Central and Eastern European Studies: gives students a general overview of the<br />

politics, history, society and culture of the countries of CEE<br />

– Europeanisation and Governance <strong>in</strong> Central and Eastern Europe: a new stream,<br />

featur<strong>in</strong>g sem<strong>in</strong>ars organised <strong>in</strong> tandem with ARENA – Centre for European Studies<br />

at the University of Oslo and other partner universities, aim<strong>in</strong>g to provide a deep<br />

knowledge of the processes of Europeanisation and democratisation <strong>in</strong> CEE.<br />

5 000 EUR – citizens of EU and candidate countries and with Polish family<br />

background, 7200 EUR – citizens of all other countries, 50 EUR/250 PLN/75 USD<br />
