The 4-year M.D. Program of Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poznań (Poland)
is designed for U.S., Canadian and international college graduates who have completed
their pre-medical education and have obtained satisfactory grades in Chemistry,
Physics and Biology. Education at PUMS is based on the American M.D. program and
conforms to American education standards. The University is recognized by the United
States Department of Education, Canadian Minister of Education and the
relevant student loan authorities.

Pre-medical education gained at college, university or equivalent institution; completion
of the following courses: General Chemistry (including lab), Organic Chemistry
(including lab), General Biology (including lab), General Physics (including lab) and
English – each of these courses must be completed with a passing grade and must last
minimum one year; MCAT score (required for US and Canadian citizens); positive
assessment at the preliminary interview during which knowledge of the above mentioned
courses will be verified orally and in a written form.
Candidates for this program may be accepted after demonstrating a record of academic
achievements and after undergoing preliminary interviews. They should also be fluent in
English and submit in English: Completed application form, Medical Health Certificate (including
chest X-ray report), completed by a doctor, A copy of vaccination records, showing if Hep.
B and TB shots were taken, Proof of health insurance valid in Poland (EHIC for European citizens),
High school/college diploma – a copy certified by the school or authorized person in
native language and, if applicable, a certified translation to English, A photocopy of valid passport,
6 recent passport-size photographs signed on the back (no head cover), Official college
transcript in English with its grading converted to U. S./standardized grading system, if applicable,
Two letters of recommendation from a science faculty member on official
University/College Letterhead, MCAT score (required for US and Canadian citizens).
PUMS carries out the admission process through its Admissions Offices and therefore
prospective candidates are required to contact the appropriate University Admissions
Office listed on the University website.
