International relations is a discipl<strong>in</strong>e focused on <strong>in</strong>ternational organizations, mutual<br />

relations between states <strong>in</strong> the sphere of politics, economy, bus<strong>in</strong>ess, media and<br />

culture. Such studies, especially those conducted <strong>in</strong> English, are designed for persons<br />

who are <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the tools needed for <strong>in</strong>dependent analysis of the<br />

phenomena of European <strong>in</strong>tegration and <strong>in</strong>ternational cooperation on a regional and<br />

global level. A student will ga<strong>in</strong> a strong academic foundation <strong>in</strong> the fields of socioeconomic<br />

and political sciences and law. This expertise will enable the student to<br />

conduct analysis of the world economy, to understand the character and evolution of<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternational political and economic systems, as well as to identify and estimate cases<br />

and problems from an <strong>in</strong>ternational perspective. A Graduate should present<br />

<strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary knowledge of the socio-economic and political sciences and law<br />

which will enable her or him to conduct an analysis of the world economy and<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternational political relations. This expertise will enable a graduate to understand the<br />

character and evolution of <strong>in</strong>ternational political and economic systems, as well as to<br />

identify and estimate cases and problems from an <strong>in</strong>ternational perspective.<br />

A graduate should speak a foreign language at the level ofl B2 accord<strong>in</strong>g to the<br />

Common European Framework of Reference: Learn<strong>in</strong>g, Teach<strong>in</strong>g, Assessment of the<br />

Council of Europe, and use the specialised vocabulary common to the field of<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternational affairs. A graduate should show effective expression ability <strong>in</strong> a foreign<br />

language. A graduate of <strong>in</strong>ternational relations should be prepared to work <strong>in</strong> the<br />

position of an analytical expert and medium level specialist <strong>in</strong> government (both<br />

national and local), <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational organisations and <strong>in</strong>stitutions, domestic <strong>in</strong>stitutions<br />

cooperat<strong>in</strong>g with foreign partners, and enterprises operat<strong>in</strong>g with<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />

markets. Thanks to the <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary character of these studies, a graduate should<br />

be prepared to work also <strong>in</strong> other areas which are not so closely connected with the<br />

theory and practice of <strong>in</strong>ternational relations. A graduate should be ready to beg<strong>in</strong><br />

studies at the MA level (second-cycle) <strong>in</strong> English.<br />

Oral exam conducted <strong>in</strong> English for candidates with foreign diplomas. Themes: history,<br />

society, geography. Calculation of po<strong>in</strong>ts from the exam is to be carried out by<br />
