Graduates of Master's <strong>Programme</strong> <strong>in</strong> International Gender Studies possess broad knowledge<br />

<strong>in</strong> the fields of <strong>in</strong>ternational organizations, human rights, m<strong>in</strong>ority policies, the<br />

function<strong>in</strong>g of mass media and their impact on socio-political life. They command an<br />

advanced and critical knowledge of contemporary gender theories, apply different<br />

theoretical perspectives <strong>in</strong> the analysis of gender issues and critically scrut<strong>in</strong>ize different<br />

standpo<strong>in</strong>ts and fem<strong>in</strong>ist empirical evidence through reasoned and coherent argument,<br />

demonstrat<strong>in</strong>g the awareness of themselves as situated experts. They are recognized as<br />

specialists of equal opportunity policies, with particular regard to policies enforced by<br />

the European Commission, but also, they are prepared to deploy them <strong>in</strong> the Polish context.<br />

As a result, they are able to provide valuable assistance <strong>in</strong> the development of many<br />

projects funded by the European Community. S<strong>in</strong>ce the teach<strong>in</strong>g programme <strong>in</strong>cludes<br />

also practical coach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> apply<strong>in</strong>g for work at the European Commission, they can apply<br />

for positions at the EC. Moreover, be<strong>in</strong>g fluent <strong>in</strong> English (both spoken and written), and<br />

hav<strong>in</strong>g acquired the ability to comb<strong>in</strong>e knowledge from various areas, they may be<br />

employed <strong>in</strong> the media as well as <strong>in</strong>stitutions deal<strong>in</strong>g with socio-cultural issues.<br />

The charge of 2000 PLN/year applies for Polish and the EU/EFTA citizens.<br />

2500 EUR/year for students from outside the EU/EFTA, exclusive of an additional<br />

200 EUR charge that covers registration fee (for students of Polish orig<strong>in</strong> the tuition<br />

is reduced by 30%).<br />

Candidates hold<strong>in</strong>g higher education (Bachelor) diplomas or Master degrees may<br />

apply. A transcript of records show<strong>in</strong>g the subjects/grades and a certificate of proficiency<br />

<strong>in</strong> English for foreigners (unless the first degree was taught <strong>in</strong> English) are<br />
