The programme emphasizes practical aspects of Computer Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g and can be<br />

adapted to the student’s <strong>in</strong>terest. The f<strong>in</strong>al effect of studies is obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g of first level<br />

competences – knowledge, skills and qualifications <strong>in</strong> accordance with „Teach<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Standards” <strong>in</strong> the field of Computer Science. They obta<strong>in</strong> the basic knowledge of<br />

mathematics and physics, general computer science areas, such as: operat<strong>in</strong>g<br />

systems, algorithms and data structures, languages and programm<strong>in</strong>g techniques,<br />

digital and analog technique, computers architecture, project management as well as<br />

ethical and legal aspects of computer science. Students who f<strong>in</strong>ished study will be able<br />

to: implement and deploy effective, reliable, safe and meet<strong>in</strong>g users requirements<br />

<strong>in</strong>formatics systems; comprehend, evaluate and deploy different solutions used <strong>in</strong><br />

scope of computer systems; ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>, <strong>in</strong>stall, adm<strong>in</strong>istrate and deploy tools and<br />

problem oriented <strong>in</strong>formatics systems, develop system documentation.<br />

Content: The student is required to complete 2205 hours of courses (equivalent to 210<br />

ECTS) <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g 60 hours of sport courses with no credit po<strong>in</strong>ts allocation. The<br />

programme consists of lecture and practical activities. Students must receive<br />

credits for all subjects. Students may choose practical tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g (6 ECTS) but the<br />

programme of the tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g must be consulted with the programme coord<strong>in</strong>ator.<br />

Students should choose to write a f<strong>in</strong>al project or degree thesis under the direction of<br />

a faculty member. The programme consists of lectures and practical activities<br />

(laboratories, tutorials, sem<strong>in</strong>ars and projects).<br />

Any area of requirements can be satisfied through courses completed at the secondary<br />

school level (12 years), be<strong>in</strong>g the equivalent of Polish Matriculation certificate.<br />

English: TOEFL – 550 po<strong>in</strong>ts or ELTS – 6 po<strong>in</strong>ts<br />

A student who obta<strong>in</strong>ed good results <strong>in</strong> the first year of study can get a scholarship for<br />

deserv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g year.<br />
