With<strong>in</strong> second-cycle philosophy studies every student def<strong>in</strong>es <strong>in</strong>dividual programme of<br />

studies by choos<strong>in</strong>g among sem<strong>in</strong>ars, prosem<strong>in</strong>ars, monographic lectures and elective<br />

courses taught <strong>in</strong> the Institute of Philosophy. The elective courses offer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>cludes:<br />

Philosophy of Culture, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Politics, Social Philosophy,<br />

History of Polish Philosophy, Aesthetics, Logical Semiotics and/or Advanced Logic.<br />

Studies end with prepar<strong>in</strong>g Master’s Dissertation and pass<strong>in</strong>g the Master’s Exam.<br />

Philosophy second-cycle programme graduate possesses deep and extensive<br />

knowledge and abilities <strong>in</strong> the range of subjects that comprise foundations of<br />

philosophical education. In accordance with personal <strong>in</strong>terests s/he also knows<br />

particular philosophical trends, theories and issues as well as current debates<br />

concern<strong>in</strong>g them. Philosophy graduate is able to analyse and <strong>in</strong>terpret cultural<br />

phenomenons and write philosophical papers on her own. S/he is also capable of<br />

comprehend<strong>in</strong>g and translat<strong>in</strong>g foreign language papers, can th<strong>in</strong>k creatively and<br />

critically and has ability to formulate, expla<strong>in</strong> and ground her own views.<br />

Philosophy graduate is well prepared for tak<strong>in</strong>g up PhD studies and for research and<br />

didactic work <strong>in</strong> the field of philosophy <strong>in</strong> higher education <strong>in</strong>stitutions. S/he can also<br />

teach Ethics and Introduction to Philosophy <strong>in</strong> school. Students who are not native<br />

speakers of English will also ga<strong>in</strong> very good command of that language which makes<br />

them much more valuable from the po<strong>in</strong>t of view of potential employers.<br />

EU and EFTA citizens – full-time studies are free off tuition fee); 3000 EUR per<br />

academic year (only for part-time studies); Non EU and EFTA citizens – 2200 EUR per<br />

academic year (full-time studies); 3000 EURO per academic year (part-time studies).<br />
