Electrical and Computer Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g programme encompasses <strong>in</strong>formation<br />

technology, control and robotics, electronics and telecommunications. The<br />

programme covers a great variety of subjects correspond<strong>in</strong>g to diverse subject areas.<br />

All students attend the same courses dur<strong>in</strong>g the first and second year, and then<br />

choose their own specialisation. Two specialisations are currently offered: Computer<br />

Systems and Networks (CSN) and Telecommunications (TCM).<br />

Graduates of the B.Sc. programme <strong>in</strong> the Computer Systems and Networks<br />

specialisations are prepared to work <strong>in</strong> the areas related to the design of new<br />

computer systems and operation of the exist<strong>in</strong>g ones. They have excellent<br />

qualifications <strong>in</strong> the area of computer science basics, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g basic knowledge of<br />

<strong>in</strong>formation process<strong>in</strong>g as well as of the area of algorithms and system modell<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

various aspects of computer eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g and applications.<br />

Graduates of the B.Sc. programme <strong>in</strong> the Telecommunications specialisation are<br />

prepared to work <strong>in</strong> the areas related to the design of digital telecommunication<br />

circuits, to the digital process<strong>in</strong>g of telecommunication signals (cod<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

compression of speech and image signals, digital modulations, redundant cod<strong>in</strong>g),<br />

the design and operation of telecommunication (transmission, commutation and<br />

data-communication) systems, as well as the design of telecommunications<br />

(telephone, data-communication and <strong>in</strong>tegrated networks).<br />
