The name of this course orig<strong>in</strong>ates from a comb<strong>in</strong>ation of two words: “mechanics”<br />

and “electronics”. Curriculum of this course consists of mechanics, electrical eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

electronics, <strong>in</strong>formative techniques and automation and it prepares for<br />

design<strong>in</strong>g and exploit<strong>in</strong>g of electromechanical devices, which are equipped with<br />

microcomputer control systems. Mechatronics as an eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g comb<strong>in</strong>ation and<br />

cooperation of above-mentioned technical sciences is directed towards design<strong>in</strong>g<br />

and produc<strong>in</strong>g of multifunctional products that can function <strong>in</strong> contemporary chang<strong>in</strong>g<br />

environment <strong>in</strong> an <strong>in</strong>telligent way.<br />

Mechatronics is also a suitable course for people <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> precise devices design<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

computers systems application <strong>in</strong> mach<strong>in</strong>e and technological devices automation,<br />

controller and computer systems programm<strong>in</strong>g, electronic control and measurement<br />

systems design<strong>in</strong>g, robotics and usage of artificial <strong>in</strong>telligence.<br />

In this course students may choose between follow<strong>in</strong>g diploma profiles:<br />

1. Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> medic<strong>in</strong>e<br />

2. Mechatronics structures<br />

3. Mechatronics <strong>in</strong> transport<br />

To end the studies a student is obligated to write an eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g dissertation concern<strong>in</strong>g<br />

modern devices and mechatronics structures.<br />
