Students of this field obtain theoretical and practical competences in design, research
and improvement of operations and processes applied in chemical industry and
other related branches. Within the scope of Chemical and Process Engineering field
there are three specialties: Engineering of Technological Processes, Engineering of
Biotechnological Processes (cooperation with the Faculty of Environment
Engineering) and Engineering of Renewable Energy Sources. The graduate of the
Engineering of Technological Processes (IPT) specialty (conducted by the Institute of
Chemical and Process Engineering) receives the universal technical education with
extended thorough knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences which enables
him to undertake the work in the fields of production, design or research. The graduate
is able to solve the problems both in small production scale as well as in commercial
one. He can work in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and
food industries, in power engineering and environment protection branches as well
as in design offices, in research laboratories and in their own businesses. The graduate
is able to use a professional, advanced software, to carry on the advanced experiments,
to optimize the new technical solutions and to analyze the problems within
the scope of engineering of technological processes. He is also prepared to take an
administrative work. Another possibility for him is doctoral studies.
