The ERASMUS MUNDUS Master Course (EMMC) <strong>in</strong> Ecohydrology (www.ecohyd.org) is a<br />

unique <strong>in</strong>ternational master course focus<strong>in</strong>g on a new vision for aquatic ecosystems restoration<br />

and long-term susta<strong>in</strong>ability. The Ecohydrology approach was developed and have<br />

been ref<strong>in</strong>ed with<strong>in</strong> the International Hydrologic Program (IHP) of UNESCO. Actually its<br />

importance is recognized by the 193 counties compos<strong>in</strong>g the UNESCO General<br />

Conference, be<strong>in</strong>g “Ecohydrology for Susta<strong>in</strong>ability” one of the five major themes of the<br />

Phase VII of the IHP-UNESCO. The Ecohydrology EMMSc is supported by a consortium<br />

build on highly experienced Higher Education Institution (HEI) <strong>in</strong> this field, as the UNESCO<br />

Institute for Water Education (Delft, Netherlands), the University of Lodz (<strong>Poland</strong>), the<br />

University of Algarve (Portugal), the Christian Albrecht University of Kiel (Germany) and the<br />

National University of La Plata (Argent<strong>in</strong>a). Several <strong>in</strong>stitutions, as Research and UNESCO<br />

Centers, from Europe, Lat<strong>in</strong> America, Asia and Australia are associat<strong>in</strong>g to this course,<br />

contribut<strong>in</strong>g with advanced study courses and promot<strong>in</strong>g students exchange.<br />

Students from all world countries are welcomed to apply to this EMMC. Deadl<strong>in</strong>es and<br />

requirements for applications should be verified at www.ecohyd.org. Students selected<br />

by the consortium will receive grants from the European Union “Educational,<br />

Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency”. These scholarships, 48.000 EUR for the<br />

entire course for category A students (from non-European countries) and 23.000 EUR<br />

for category B students (from European countries), will cover all expenses with fees,<br />

travell<strong>in</strong>g and subsistence for the period of the course (24 months). Students not<br />

requir<strong>in</strong>g grant are also welcomed to attend the course. For these candidates, the fee<br />

is 8.000 EUR /year and 4.000 EUR/year, respectively for category A and B students.<br />

An applicant who has successfully accomplished a first degree of higher education<br />

equivalent to a B.Sc. degree <strong>in</strong> one of the follow<strong>in</strong>g subjects: biology, ecology, geosciences,<br />

environmental protection, limnology, hydrology, aquatic eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g or any<br />

similar subject. Admission procedure requires the legalized Bachelor’s Degree<br />

Diploma (or other document confirm<strong>in</strong>g bachelor’s degree studies graduation) with the<br />

transcript of records and the English Language Certificate.<br />
