MA program <strong>in</strong> American Studies and Mass Media comprises various discipl<strong>in</strong>ary<br />

areas deal<strong>in</strong>g with the United States of America <strong>in</strong> transatlantic and global contexts.<br />

The emphasis is put on the relations and <strong>in</strong>fluences exerted by the United States on<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternational politics, world economy, mass media, and mass culture. Our graduates<br />

are well equipped with skills which are <strong>in</strong> demand by employers, such as English<br />

language and communication skills, familiarity with political, social, cultural and<br />

economic realities of the USA, the largest economy <strong>in</strong> the world and a world leader<br />

<strong>in</strong> develop<strong>in</strong>g new technologies and <strong>in</strong>novative solutions <strong>in</strong> advertis<strong>in</strong>g, political<br />

campaign<strong>in</strong>g, and e-bus<strong>in</strong>ess. Accord<strong>in</strong>g to our records, our graduates f<strong>in</strong>d employment<br />

<strong>in</strong> government agencies, (e.g. M<strong>in</strong>istry of Foreign Affairs), advertis<strong>in</strong>g and PR<br />

agencies, newspapers, magaz<strong>in</strong>es, radio and TV stations.<br />

The charge of 2000 PLN/year applies for Polish and the EU/EFTA citizens plus<br />

a registration fee (full-time studies). 5200 PLN/year (part-time studies).<br />

2500 EUR/year for students from outside the EU/EFTA, exclusive of an additional<br />

200 EUR charge that covers registration fee (for students of Polish orig<strong>in</strong> the tuition<br />

is reduced by 30%).<br />

Candidates hold<strong>in</strong>g higher education (Bachelor) diplomas or Master degrees may<br />

apply. A transcript of records show<strong>in</strong>g the subjects/grades and a certificate of proficiency<br />

<strong>in</strong> English for foreigners (unless the first degree was taught <strong>in</strong> English) are<br />
