The Erasmus Mundus SERP-Chem Master’s course is offered by the consortium of<br />

four European universities, namely Université Paris Sud 11, Università degli Studi di<br />

Genova, Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu and Universidade do<br />

Porto.<br />

The Master SERP-Chem aims at tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g young students <strong>in</strong> the most perform<strong>in</strong>g<br />

experimental and theoretical tools used and developed <strong>in</strong> chemistry and physicalchemistry.<br />

It is an answer for an <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g need of skilled people to participate <strong>in</strong> the<br />

efforts developed scientifically or <strong>in</strong>dustrially <strong>in</strong> areas of great relevance towards<br />

economic susta<strong>in</strong>ability and environmental safety, conservation and protection such<br />

as: development of renewable energies and "no-energy" chemistry based on photon<strong>in</strong>duced<br />

reactions, use of radiation <strong>in</strong>duced processes to optimize applications,<br />

surface treatment and modification, development of compounds for catalysis aimed<br />

at enhanc<strong>in</strong>g the selectivity and the efficiency of chemical and <strong>in</strong>dustrial processes.<br />

This <strong>in</strong>ternational study programme stems from exist<strong>in</strong>g scientific l<strong>in</strong>ks between<br />

participat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>stitutions.<br />

• European Students 2500 EUR/year<br />

• Non European Students 4800 EUR/year<br />

Applicants should have or should be <strong>in</strong> process to get a Bachelor (BS) degree at the<br />

time of the application. The proof of the Bachelor degree will be asked when<br />

enter<strong>in</strong>g the master September 2011. An applicant with a degree from an <strong>in</strong>stitution<br />

where the language of <strong>in</strong>struction is not English is required to provide official score<br />

reports from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or the<br />

International English Language Test<strong>in</strong>g System (IELTS). Other criteria to be taken <strong>in</strong>to<br />

account are awards and external references. The application for the Erasmus Mundus<br />

scholarship is automatically proceeded together with the admission.<br />
