Polish MSc & Eng <strong>in</strong> Forestry<br />

“Forest Information Technology” is the MSc programme taught <strong>in</strong> English. It is a jo<strong>in</strong>t<br />

program based on the double diploma agreement between Faculty of Forestry at<br />

Warsaw University of Life Sciences-SGGW (WULS-SGGW) and Faculty of Forest and<br />

Environment at University of Applied Sciences of Eberswalde (University of<br />

Susta<strong>in</strong>able Development Eberswalde (USDE) signed on 15 June 2005. Teach<strong>in</strong>g takes<br />

place at both locations. The goal of this International Master <strong>Study</strong> <strong>Programme</strong> is to<br />

contribute to environmentalproblem solv<strong>in</strong>g by tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g professionals to apply <strong>in</strong>formation<br />

technology approaches. This will be achieved by provid<strong>in</strong>g scientific methods<br />

and tools required for collect<strong>in</strong>g, process<strong>in</strong>g and communicat<strong>in</strong>g environmental data<br />

with emphasis on forest ecosystems and environmental problems. The <strong>Programme</strong><br />

<strong>in</strong>cludes advanced topics of environmental <strong>in</strong>formation process<strong>in</strong>g and modern forest<br />

ecosystem research. The mandatory part of the new program is characterized by<br />

a large amount of <strong>in</strong>formation technology subjects and a concentration on selected<br />

forest and landscape ecological subjects. A broad range of elective courses at both<br />

universities offers different specialization directions.<br />

Polish students: 15 August (through WULS-SGGW), German students: 1 June<br />

(through UASE), Foreign students: 1 June (through German UNI-ASSIST agency)<br />

Diploma confirm<strong>in</strong>g first cycle study (BSc or Eng) <strong>in</strong> Forestry, Biology, Agriculture,<br />

Landscape Plann<strong>in</strong>g or related Natural Sciences, confirmed English skills<br />

Basic PC knowledge and knowledge on operat<strong>in</strong>g systems and office suites. Good<br />

mathematical skills are an advantage<br />
