This programme is taught exclusively <strong>in</strong> English, and leads to a lekarz weterynarii<br />

(brit. Veter<strong>in</strong>ary Surgeon, VS) degree. From start to f<strong>in</strong>ish, WULS-SGGW gives<br />

graduates the necessary experience to enter the veter<strong>in</strong>ary profession with<br />

confidence. The programme consists of total 75 obligatory courses and electives.<br />

A brief overview: Year I Students develop a basic understand<strong>in</strong>g of the Life Sciences<br />

underp<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g veter<strong>in</strong>ary medic<strong>in</strong>e and become familiar with veter<strong>in</strong>ary and medical<br />

terms. Year II Students delve more deeply <strong>in</strong>to the Life Sciences,<br />

particularly anatomy, physiology and veter<strong>in</strong>ary immunology. Year III Students complete<br />

basic courses and enter the precl<strong>in</strong>ical courses. Year IV Students cont<strong>in</strong>ue work<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong> the field, hon<strong>in</strong>g their skills and learn<strong>in</strong>g new ones as they work on<br />

a variety of animals, from fish to rum<strong>in</strong>ants and sw<strong>in</strong>e. Year V Contagious and<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternal diseases, and surgery techniques become the ma<strong>in</strong> focus <strong>in</strong> the fifth year of<br />

study, as students <strong>in</strong>vestigate various animal diseases as well as learn animal<br />

obstetrics and gynaecology. Important part of education are stages <strong>in</strong> the faculty<br />

cl<strong>in</strong>ics and cooperat<strong>in</strong>g farms.<br />

Registration fee: 400 EUR. Tuition of 6500 EUR: 4500 EUR (first <strong>in</strong>stallment) – due<br />

September 1, 2011; 2000 EUR (second <strong>in</strong>stallment) – due February 15, 2011.<br />
