This specialization has been established to give its students understand<strong>in</strong>g of biological<br />

processes supported by familiarity with management rules and legal aspects of<br />

environmental protection and give a good tool for the future specialists who will be<br />

capable of secur<strong>in</strong>g good quality of the environment. Management, and especially<br />

environmental management, which is considered <strong>in</strong> this case, is meant to assure the<br />

state of the environment to be ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed at a good level, accord<strong>in</strong>g to the current<br />

standards and regulations. The programme will enable students to learn about the<br />

degraded environment <strong>in</strong> a large city (Warsaw) and further to compare it with one of<br />

the cleanest areas of <strong>Poland</strong>, Biebrza National Park, known worldwide for its exceptional<br />

habitats, which hasn’t been reached by human <strong>in</strong>fluence. Alumni of this specialization<br />

will have the opportunity to deeply <strong>in</strong>vestigate the subject, which is of great<br />

importance for human wellbe<strong>in</strong>g and which is a key driv<strong>in</strong>g force of the world economy<br />

nowadays. Cooperat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>stitutions: Cranfield University (UK), University of<br />

Wagen<strong>in</strong>gen (NL).<br />
