The aim of the postgraduate programme is to provide students with a firm and<br />

comprehensive knowledge <strong>in</strong> mathematics, which will enable them to cont<strong>in</strong>ue their<br />

education at the doctoral level or to work as mathematicians <strong>in</strong> professions requir<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the application of mathematical tools for comput<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

On completion of the program, the graduate:<br />

– has an advanced knowledge of mathematics and its applications,<br />

– possesses the ability to reason mathematically and is able to verify mathematical<br />

hypotheses,<br />

– is able to present mathematical concepts <strong>in</strong> speak<strong>in</strong>g and <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

– is able to build, develop and apply mathematical models,<br />

– can use advanced IT tools to solve theoretical and practical mathematical problems,<br />

– is able to deepen his knowledge of current research <strong>in</strong> mathematics and computer<br />

science,<br />

– is prepared to cooperate <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational teams, where the lead<strong>in</strong>g<br />

language is English,<br />

– is ready to embark on doctoral studies.<br />

EU/EFTA citizens apply<strong>in</strong>g on a regular basis – no fees;<br />

Non-EU/EFTA citizens: 3500 EUR per year;<br />

200 EUR – application fee.<br />

A diploma of the completion of a higher education first degree (Bachelor) <strong>in</strong> Mathematics.<br />

A full list of the required documents is available on the university’s website.<br />

Open<strong>in</strong>g of the programme depends on the number of candidates.<br />
