Master of Science, Eng<strong>in</strong>eer <strong>in</strong> Electronics and Telecommunication, specialization:<br />

Master studies <strong>in</strong> Electronics and Telecommunications, Information and Communication<br />

Technologies, last three or four semesters. Three-semester programme starts <strong>in</strong> March whereas<br />

four-semester studies start <strong>in</strong> October. The three-semester programme version is meant for<br />

the B.Sc. graduates <strong>in</strong> the field of electronics and telecommunications. The four-semester programme<br />

additionally has a ‘preparatory’ semester and is dedicated to the Bachelor-level diploma<br />

holders <strong>in</strong> subject areas other than electronics and telecommunications (e.g. general<br />

electrical eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g, computer science, physics, technical physics, mathematics, control<br />

eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g etc.). Thus, ‘preparatory’ semester is ma<strong>in</strong>ly devoted to enhance and widen the<br />

student’s knowledge <strong>in</strong> telecommunications and electronics and the curriculum follow<strong>in</strong>g it is<br />

identical to the three-semester programme. Students have a possibility to select a number of<br />

elective courses proposed by the chairs of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications.<br />

A graduate receives the degree of Master of Science, Eng. <strong>in</strong> Electronics and<br />

Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technologies specialty. The M.Sc.<br />

graduates <strong>in</strong> electronics and telecommunications are prepared to perform research and development<br />

<strong>in</strong> the area of their education. They are prepared to work <strong>in</strong> R&D centres, telecommunications<br />

and electronics companies. They are also able to manage eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g teams<br />

<strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> design<strong>in</strong>g new equipment, networks, services, etc. They are ready to undertake<br />

doctoral studies. Their fluency <strong>in</strong> English allows free exchange of thoughts, <strong>in</strong>terpersonal<br />

contacts and competent draw<strong>in</strong>g up of technical specifications and documentations.<br />
