The programme is created for students wish<strong>in</strong>g to explore the field of study known as<br />

nanotechnology. It provides students with professional knowledge of solid state<br />

physics and modern materials <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g their structural, electronic, optical and<br />

magnetic properties and their application <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>dustry.<br />

The general programme of the course:<br />

– 1 st and 2 nd term – classes <strong>in</strong> home Universities: University of Silesia (teach<strong>in</strong>g<br />

language Polish) or Université du Ma<strong>in</strong>e (teach<strong>in</strong>g language French),<br />

– end of the 2 nd term – students’ exchange for foreign tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g period,<br />

– 3 rd and 4 th term – classes <strong>in</strong> English, also e-learn<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

– 4 th term – one more students’ exchange and preparation of theses<br />

Collaboration <strong>in</strong>stitution:<br />

Université du Ma<strong>in</strong>e, France<br />

EU/EFTA citizens apply<strong>in</strong>g on a regular basis – no fees;<br />

Non-EU/EFTA citizens: 3500 EUR per year;<br />

200 EUR – application fee.<br />
